The Hampton Township, or Hampton, area is north and east of the city and bordered by the suburban areas of Ross Township, McCandless Township, Richland Township and Shaler. Commuting into the city is via one of several close main roads or highways. Hampton offers predominantly single-family residences and condos, and several new home developments, set on hilly, wooded terrain. The shopping districts and main area of North Park are adjacent to Hampton, providing shopping and recreation. In addition, another well-developed shopping corridor lies along the main north-south corridor in the township, Route 8.
